PORTFOLIO > INSIDE STORIES > ZEN

The starting point of this projects were the paintings. The wall and rug colours had to match them. We went subdued for the rugs and upholstery, and brighter for the walls. Some of the paintings were too big for the space, so we separated them from the frames and hung them separately.

A charming flat in Highgate, London which had seen better days. The client wanted a quiet, soothing place, but didn’t know how to achieve that with a narrow corridor separating off the different rooms. We opened up the flat by taking out several doors and stud walls to create a better flow. Faux wainscotting was painted on the walls and the blinds were made to measure, combining retro print with toile de joey.
